Halloween {East Syracuse Child Photographer}

It's that time of year again; pumpkins, cider, and ghostly figures.  My youngest, Isla, is a gentle sweet soul.  She really gets her courage and strength dressing up as super heroes.  Last year she chose Super Girl, and this year it's Bat Girl.  She also stays away from the pink costumes, wanting the most "tough" looking costumes.  We decided that if she were fighting crime she would be helping our amazing local police department.   I had little input posing her, she knew just what to do when I said, "Show me what a strong Bat Girl looks like."  I know we all feel a little safer having her on our team.

Photo processing was easy with the great light we had at just before sunset.  I used all natural light, the sidewalk helped bounce the light onto her face and I didn't need a reflector.  I decreased the highlights and increased the blacks on the image to give it more of a night time feel.  I also increase the reds and yellow on curves to bring out the brick and her belt.  I had to do a little cloning of bird doo doo on the wall also, yes, that's part of the job.

What better way to showcase this adorable picture than with a contest at Rock the Shot.  The link can be found here ...  www.rocktheshotforum.com.

Let's here it for Batgirl!!
