Class of 2018 {Syracuse Senior Photography}

Adrianna arrived for her session perfectly.  She's beautiful, but more importantly, she has a wonderful personality.  She's talented in Lacrosse and she let me ask her a million questions about the sport.  After meeting her mother I can tell the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.  An incredibly sweet family I feel blessed to have met.  xoxo.

The weather was perfect for Joe's senior session. Joe is not only handsome he is talented, playing both basketball and baseball.  His parents are wonderful, we had a great time, and I got to learn a bit about his sports.  Thanks, Joe!

Headshots {Syracuse NY Portrait Photographer}

Now that we actually have sunshine in Syracuse I finally took the time to do some headshots for my website/blog. I've only been putting it off for over 5 years.  It's always very strange for me to be on the other side of the camera.  I'm fine if I'm with my family, but when I'm by myself I feel very awkward. This ended up being very educational to me.  Sometimes I forget what a client feels like and this was a nice refresher.

 If you're wondering who's the lady behind the lens, well... it's my mom! I talked her through the process and I have to say she makes a darn good assistant. And as my clients already know, I do not look this put together during a shoot. Any makeup I'm wearing gets rubbed away by my camera, my outfits consist of anything I don't mind getting dirty, and I'm definitely not in heels.  

Oh, but then the wind blows your hair just right!

But seriously.... feeling a tad awkward.  I don't belong on this side of the lens. And just to let you know, things are not always as they appear.  Right before this shot a big bird pooped on my face... yup, right on my face.  I wiped it off, which took my makeup off, covered my face with some hair and kept going.

I always say this and I will continue to say it for as long as I'm in business... I have the BEST clients. Time is the most precious gift we have.  It feels fantastic when you have clients who book you year after year, seeing their families grow, and learning about their lives.  I was scheduled to photograph MacKenzie's senior photos in the fall but due to some unfortunate circumstances I had to cancel, and I wasn't able to reschedule until the spring.  Graciously, she waited.   I'm so happy she did.  She is a natural beauty with a bubbly personality.  We had a great time, many laughs, and I even got a chance to toss her color guard flag.  Let me just say, it's a lot more difficult than one would think, and she is much more talented than me.  Thanks MacKenzie, you are fabulous!

Hello Friends! I am officially returning from sabbatical. Thank you all for being so incredibly patient while I relax and take time for my family, it means the world to me. Even though I am returning, I will only be taking a limited amount of sessions this year. Currently, I have a number of clients booked but have a few dates open for seniors or families. I will be offering summer mini sessions and fall mini sessions soon, so stay tuned!
