The R family { East Syracuse NY family and child photographer}

Words can not begin the describe how special this family is.....xoxo -Ann

Reid Family { Massena NY Family Photographer}

When I was contacted by Karri to photograph her family I was thrilled.  I went to high school with Karri and her husband, Brian.  I couldn't wait to see them and their beautiful children.  We met over a holiday weekend in our old hometown of Massena, NY (yes it was cold).  Not only were they dressed perfectly for a fall photoshoot they were all gorgeous!  I had a blast throwing leaves but I was quickly defeated by the three boys and walked away with my head down in defeat.

Courtney { Senior photographer East Syracuse NY}

From the first second I met Courtney and her family I felt a sense of warmth.  They are the type of family you just want to hang out with, eating pizza and watching football.  I was also very excited to hear that Courtney is a cheerleader on the Jamesville Dewitt cheerleading squad.  Many people might not know but I was a coach for the team many years ago.  I had a blast and I have some of the most amazing memories from that time in my life.  Here are some photographs from that shoot...

Fun with advertising...

Stone Quarry Art Park {Cazenovia, NY Photographer}

If you have never been to the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park in Cazenovia, NY you have to plan a trip.  Not only does it provide beautiful trails and breathtaking scenery, but great pieces of art.  I love to bring my daughters there to explore.  The children enjoy touching the art and interpreting each piece.  Such a unique and beautiful sight!

Apple Crisp with my daughter {East Syracuse, NY Family Photographer}

Now that my older daughter is in school I have found lots of time to focus on my youngest daughter, Isla.  One of her favorite things is to help me cook.  A few days prior we went apple picking at a local apple farm, Beak & Skiff.  I enjoyed a wonderful day of pony rides, apple picking, cider drinking, and bouncing in a large inflated pumpkin.  What fun!  So we took those delicious apples (we like Cortlands the best) and got to work making our apple crisp.  Thankfully a friend of mine gave us an apple peeler which made the process faster, easy for a two year old, and a caused a load of giggles.  My daughter surprised me by being an amazing chef; watch out Martha Stewart!

Drum Roll Please...{New Photo Studio, Syracuse NY}

When I first thought of starting my own photography business I knew I wanted to open a home studio.  This would be easier to be with my children and I wanted a space that was more relaxed, and cozy for children and new moms. Parking is easy!  I decided to use our formal living room which has gorgeous natural light all day. My husband and I immediately began working.  Along with a new floor we changed base boards and did lots of painting.  Designing was very easy for me.  I do not like clutter, I love furniture that is rustic, and I wanted a space clean and fresh.  I am so glad that I put forth the money, effort, and time to complete this.
A recent client told me she was unsure of going to a photographer with a home studio. She describe a bad experience with a previous photographer's home studio. Upon arriving at the photographer's home she and her daughter were brought down into a dark, cluttered, unfinished basement for their photos. She was relieved to find my studio very professional. I decided I should post a photo showing potential clients what my home studio looks like, and to also publicly thank my husband for all his hard work making my studio what I had envisioned.

Some of my gear and a wrap around canvas of my daughter.
Look at this gorgeous natural light... who needs that flash when you have mother nature?

My welcome table, business cards, music catered to the clients taste, and a little drink.

My youngest daughter's beautiful smile on a stand out.
Another little gallery of some wonderful clients.

 Just a couple of many backdrops.  I prefer seamless paper over anything else... well with an exception of mother nature.

Gosh I just love these chairs!

I am still waiting on some more studio lighting and French doors but I would say it's looking fab :)

I just loved this family of girls (and dad.)  They melted my heart and even promised they would work for me.  I believe we agreed upon $.60/hour.
